Read. Think. Write.

People's behavior makes sense if you think about it in terms of their goals, needs, and motives.
-Thomas Mann

It makes me think about horror parents. The ones that turn your life into hell because of this or that or the other. They want you to do this. They want their child to do that. They don't understand the other.
I came to realize this year that, when it comes down to it, the parents are pretty much all thinking about what they think is best for their child. It's as simple as that. They have their ideas about how the world works, what their children need, and how they should get it. It becomes a pain in the ass when they are sure they know better than you how to accomplish something. Or when what they think is best for their child doesn't necessarily fit into education; or they are completely out of touch with what is going on in school, what is going on with their child, or how times are constantly changing, and they need to keep up with it, not hold their child back.
