Day three- The morning spent trading stories.
Feeling like we are spending a whole morning discussing Behaviorism(reading one)- OK to bring it in, and have us read about it, and discuss a bit; but during such a short program, are we really going to spend all this time talking about it and trading stories? If someone is still not understanding the concept, then backchannel the discussion- but at this point I feel like we are wasting time. I would rather be working on something to do with TPACK, tech tips, something more relevant. It's not that this is not relevant, of course it is, but this is getting redundant. I am enjoying the conversation and the stories, but it doesn't feel like the fast paced, constantly learning, MAET rush that i am used to/expect/enjoy.
Uh oh. Now it looks like we might spend the rest of the morning discussing reading two- The Power of Mindful Learning. It will be a more heated discussion, but I hope we don't spend too much time on it, as the reading itself seemed a bit redundant/obvious/ out of date.
Good tech tips though Fra! Google search- advanced search- choose reading level.
Also: www.easywhois.com Tells you who is the registered domain holder behind a website- great for checking sources!
wayback.archive.org- can track the history of websites.
We're tying games into behaviorism. Let's see.
Yup. Spending the rest of the morning discussing Behaviorism in education.
Then we got into groups and had to find a software online that used behaviorism to teach. Pretty straight forward assignment. No challenge. Fun, but what are we getting out of this?
On to next blog- what I actually think about Behaviorism (and not the 4 hours spent discussing it).
